Set Stills from Tilt-shift Horror Vignettes Production

Posted by Luke Black in Uncategorized on September 19th, 2011

This weekend we shot four horror vignettes I wrote and produced.
The project was directed by Derek Bisbing for a Halloween-themed art show at the end of the month in Calgary.
The vignettes were little slices of horror cliches done in single wide angled takes with a tilt-shift lens.

I’ll put up the dates of the art show when I can and the individual vignettes after that.

In the meantime, check out the set photos courtesy of Azriel Knight!

Day 1: Summonings & Zombies

Day 2: Slashers & Clowns

Uni is Wrapped

Posted by Luke Black in Uncategorized on May 24th, 2011

We are wrapped on the longest and most ambitious shoot I have ever undertaken!
And it was a huge success!

I can’t thank the cast and crew enough for all their killer work on the film!
Now I will get all the footage into post production and make a short film you’ll all be proud of!

In the meantime, you can check out a ton of behind the scenes photos on the Uni facebook page.

Craig Orrett’s Fowls

Posted by Luke Black in Other People's Work on March 8th, 2011

I saw a killer 16mm film at the $100 Film Festival this past weekend and I thought I might share.

Craig Orrett‘s short film Fowls is an optically printed masterpiece of a music video for a band called Hut. The crowd at the Saturday night screening of the festival was all a buzz about it during the after party (or, at least, those attendees I talked to).

I’ve posted it below but, needless to say, you really missed out on seeing the 16mm print projected!

Oh, and in case you’re interested, I’m running a fundraiser to make a short film satirizing ex-gay conversion therapy starring stand up comedian Darcy Michael!
